Looking for LOLs? Well you’re in the right place. With some of the best comedy movies now showing, we’re all set to put a smile on your face.

From light-hearted silliness to razor-sharp black comedies, there’s something for everyone. So settle in and prepare to giggle, chuckle or all-out roar.

Ted

From the creator of Family Guy comes a boundary-pushing buddy movie about one man and his bear. Brought to life by a Christmas miracle, John’s best friend is a teddy bear, which is fine when he’s eight years old. Skip forward 20-something years though and Ted’s become something of a spare wheel, and with his womanising ways, a terrible influence.

Okay, so the set-up’s a little unconventional but all the silly Seth MacFarlane gags you’d expect are there, along with some fun cameos and a brilliantly bizarre fight scene.

Home Alone

When eight-year-old Kevin’s absent-minded family jet off for a Christmas break without him, he’s thrilled with his new-found freedom. But when two hapless thieves target the house, it’s up to Kevin to protect the property using any means necessary. Using ever-more-inventive booby traps, can he keep the bungling burglars at bay?

Snatched

Fresh from a break-up and intent on adventure, impulsive Emily sets off for South America with her nervous mother Linda in tow. Soon though, sunburn is the least of Linda’s worries. Starring Amy Schumer and queen of comedy Goldie Hawn, this fun movie has just the right mix of mother-daughter love and silly laughs.

The Disaster Artist

Based on a true story, this comedy movie charts the making of The Room, one of the worst films of all time. After numerous rejections on the LA casting scene, aspiring actors Tommy and Greg decide to make their own movie instead. Despite his Hollywood ambitions and a mysteriously bottomless budget though, Tommy proves to be a chaotic director and a temperamental star. Look out for cameos from the likes of Bryan Cranston, J. J. Abrams, and Kristen Bell to name but a few.

The Hangover

Go back to where it all began in the original and best Hangover movie. Waking up in a Las Vegas hotel room the morning after a bachelor party, three friends discover the groom’s gone astray. With no memory of the previous night’s events and only 48 hours until the big day, it’s time to start retracing their steps. Their only clues: a tiger in the bathroom, a baby in the wardrobe and a naked guy in the boot of their car…

I, Tonya

Following the real-life events surrounding the 1994 attack on figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, this unmissable black comedy movie charts the turbulent upbringing of arch-rival Tonya Harding. Despite her poor background and home-made costumes, a young Tonya manages to propel herself onto the international skating scene. But when husband Jeff and two inept goons take a threat too far, everything she’s worked for is put in jeopardy. Stand-out performances from Oscar nominee Margot Robbie and Oscar winner Allison Janney are backed by an epic soundtrack of 80s and 90s hits.
